Welcome to The Legal 500 Asia Pacific homepage. Globally more than six million users visit The Legal 500 website each year and this guide offers those seeking advocacy reliable and up-to-date information on barristers operating in Asia Pacific’s legal markets.
Published annually, in addition to its coverage of law firms, The Legal 500 Asia Pacific provides unbiased commentary and insight into the Bar in Hong Kong, Australia, India, Sri Lanka and – as a new addition for this edition of the guide – New Zealand. It also includes a regional overview of arbitration practitioners, as well as a section for those at the Bar of England and Wales active in Asian markets.
The Legal 500’s rankings reflect the results of detailed analysis of submissions from chambers and law firms, and thousands of interviews with GCs and private practice lawyers, conducted by our team of experienced researchers in accordance with our guidelines.
In addition to ranking barristers and chambers by jurisdiction and practice area to help in-house counsel make an informed choice, the guide also allows barristers to benchmark their own performance against their peers or when seeking to instruct co-counsel in an unfamiliar jurisdiction. Every barrister ranked – and chambers mentioned – in the Legal 500 Asia Pacific guide is ‘recommended’.
If you are interested in taking part, feel free to consult our editorial guidelines, as well as our meet the editor webinar series found on the website, where you will find a breakdown of the information we ask firms to provide and an explanation of the steps taken during the research process.
We would be happy to hear your feedback and ideas about how we can accurately reflect the advocacy profession in all split-profession jurisdictions across Asia. If you have feedback on the Legal 500 series of any kind, please do get in touch with our research team via our FAQ page at www.legal500.com/faqs.
