McCormicks
McCormicks assists numerous private investors, property developers and landed estates and charities, primarily in the sports sector, on lease renewals, property sales, and residential developments. Claire Baker-Kemp assumed leadership of the practice in May 2023, following the departure of Heather Roberts in March 2023. Baker-Kemp is well-versed in property sales and purchases, and landlord and tenant matters, and is supported by senior partner Peter McCormick. - Acted in relation to the acquisition by the Council (via a wholly owned subsidiary) of the business, property and assets of The Chadderton Total Care Nursing home.
- Acted on behalf of Lord Scarborough and his trustees on the acquisition of the business and assets of Lumley Castle Hotel Limited from the Joint Administrators Oliver Collinge and James Sleight of PKF GM. The real estate elements of the matter involved dealing with the existing lease and ensuring that the new owners could run the business once acquired without any issues from the former tenants.
- Advise on portfolio management for Punch which covers a wide range of matters for a large number of properties including lease renewals, transfer from tied to un-tied lease arrangements, licences for alterations/underleases/assignments etc.
